Well, I had a nice long post and then poof, spell check made it go away.

I am Heather, and this is my blog, a way to vent, rant, and just do what makes me feel good….write.

I just had my 8th anniversary, pretty neat considering I am 26. My husband is Bobby, he’s a Soldier in the US Army…. for now… but that is another post. We have been through so much, good and bad. We dealt with an unplanned teenage pregnancy, many years of separation due to his military career, a custody issue, blending a family, moving, moving some more, YEARS in infertility, some difficult times in our marriage, more great years, buying a house, and soon a career change.

Together we have three kids, well two if you count “biology”, but biology is second to what the heart thinks. My oldest is Austin, he was born from my heart. Bobby has full custody of his son, kudos to you daddy! Austin is the sweetest boy you will ever meet, but don’t let your guard down, he’s brilliant too and has his naughty side (show me a child who doesn’t). Austin has made the most of his life going from a very hurt and angry child, to now a well adjusted happy child. As much as I hate to say it, the change happened after his bio mom, or BM, decided to step out of his life completely. I am in no way saying kids do better without their bio parents, but sometimes you have to stand back and say “Am I helping this child, or hurting them”?

Our middle child is Christopher, and what a character he is. He’s too smart for his own good, and lately his mouth is just as smart as his brain. He was our weather-man last Halloween, he never fails to amaze you. He’s one of those kids where you say to yourself “did he just SAY that”? Christopher is VERY dramatic however, you can make him cry at the drop of a hat.

Then there is the baby, Matthew, he was our 6 years in the making baby. I knew I wanted another baby, but what I did not know is that I wanted another SON. Ask me a year ago, when I was newly pregnant if I wanted a son or daughter, I would tell you all I wanted was a healthy baby…. but inside I was screaming “A DAUGHTER!!! I WANT A GIRL!!!!!!” I know better now, Matthew is just too cool of a baby. Easy tempered, happy, and cuddly. He is my 100% breastfed, cloth diapered, sling riding, low maintenance boy.

Like I mentioned, Bobby is in the Army, he has been in almost 8 years and is now in the process of a medical discharge. He had two failed shoulder surgeries following an injury in Iraq (non-combat related). He loves computers, fantasy books, video games, and cartoons. He is a devoted daddy and is an inspiration.

I am a CNA, nursing student, and most importantly, a mom. I love computers, writing, reading, and my pets (2 dogs, 3 cats, and 5 chinchillas). Family is my life and without them, I would have nothing. I really am enjoying home ownership and spend a lot of time watching HGTV for decorating ideas and my house is about 50% done outside, and 75% done inside.
