Back in 2004 I joined a group of mommies who were pregnant just like me; we were all due in March ‘05. Talk of morning sickness, hemorrhoids, and ultrasound pictures does wonders for female bonding. I have met several ladies whom I will consider lifetime friends, but the most special of all is my dear friend Terri. We have a lot in common and her seriously funny wit can put any situation in a new perspective. After her son was born, she shared several pictures through the weeks and months of her darling baby Zane, and I noticed how great her fashion sense is. One outfit I particularly loved is pictured below…. Zane’s Foxy Jammies. These were passed onto Terri by a friend of hers with equally nice baby fashion sense….
Baby Zane, doing what he does best… walking!!

Well, babies have a tendency to grow, and they do it so fast that if you blink, you miss it. Zane tends to have this talent down pact, even more so than my puny little Matthew, whom at 7 months was still under 16 lbs. Knowing how much I LOVED these jammies, Terri made an offer I could not refuse….. she offered to mail them to me! One catch, I had to wait for her husband to wash them. In my attempt to conserve water *wink, wink* I told Terri to send them dirty, since I would have to wash them with my own detergent anyways. Thus the legend of the dirty baby jammies was born.
Just a few short days later a package arrived from USPS. I was so excited! My DH Bobby asked “so, what is in the package?” to which I replied “dirty jammies”. He held me close and said “oh really?” I laughed and pulled the jammies out of the envelope… I almost think I saw him shed a tear. All he said was “oh”, and walked off.

Some day I hope to find another baby hip and cool enough to pass these jammies onto, hopefully one who appreciates the legend of the dirty baby jammies…because you know what? I am not sure I feel like doing laundry…hehehe.
