This morning I tried an experiment… it was something I thought up while relaxing in the tub last night trying to will myself to sleep. I made three lists: A list of chores for Mommy, chores for the boys, and then listed all the rooms for a third list. Then we rolled dice to see what chores we would do. So while I am vacuuming, the kids are cleaning their room. Then when we were done with individual chores we knocked out a room at a time, dusting, cleaning, and organizing. It was fun for both of us because the boys liked rolling the dice and chosing a room, and I liked the help. I was so impressed with their work that afterwards we celebrated by getting a couple toys at the store and then catching a family movie at the dollar theater.
Tomorrow we are celebrating Christopher’s birthday…. we got him a bicycle… but Shhhh, don’t tell!! Hehehe

Wow, I can’t wait until Maya’s old enough to be slave labor…um…I mean to help out! (grin)
For ideas to stay motivated, I usually get a little inspiration from FlyLady. The site’s a bit corny, but the techniques WORK. My favorite is setting a timer for 15 minutes, then doing whatever I can in 15 minutes…no rushing, just workingj without distraction. It’s pretty amazing what you can do when you’re not forever stopping to check email or read blogs!
