Luck

Can Bobby POSSIBLY have worse luck? So far, the last two times he has flown to Killeen, he has either been bumped from his flight, or the flight was cancelled. And last time he flew from Killen to Dallas, his flight was delayed almost 3 hours. Serves him right for teasing me for my bad luck flying when I went to Spokane!! Airplanes hate US, not just me!

Zombie Killing and emergency plan

Part of the condition of letting Bobby get the Xbox 360 was to get us the game Dead Rising; if you have not heard of the game or seen the commercials it is a game where Zombies run amuck in a small town in Colorado and it is your job to photograph and then slaughter them. It’s a strange morph between Sean of the Dead and Dawn of the Dead with its own unique spin. Well… last night Bobby and I were laying in bed talking and we heard a helicopter doing the normal patrol and both of us immediately thought of Dead Rising, where the opening scene takes place with the main character riding in a helicopter. So, we start talking…

ME: “In a Zombie attack, would we hide in the basement where we have the emergency water and the camping supplies”?

Bobby: “Nahhh, too easy for them to break into.. the attic”.

H: “But the attic is too hot”.

B: “Then we just barricade the doors and windows, we have plenty of usable wood if we break the boys’ bunk bed”.

H: “True, most of our windows are up high too”.

B: “Yup, we would be fine”.

H: “I feel better now”.

B: “Me too”.

Yes, we need lives. We really only play the game once a week, but the game sticks with you.

Ok, back to work. Sunday is no day of rest in this house, it’s the day I do my deep cleaning.. window washing, plant watering, carpet shampooing, furniture polishing, etc. Between my Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, Charlie’s All Purpose cleaner, Windex, and Old English, we get this place sparkling!

Sorry, no time for a snappy title, I am racing the battery!

Let’s see if I can manage to whip out a quick post before my laptop battery dies in 5 minutes and I lose it all. I am currently writing this from the computer room in the basement where I spent the evening keeping Bobby company while he did his homework. He flies out tomorrow so we have made today a family day. We had BBQ steak and baked potatoes for dinner and then watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith together. We finally made it to the store to do some much needed grocery shopping where I got the famous “three boys huh?” comments.

Oh, I forgot to mention, last night we ate dinner at Musashi’s, a Japanese Steakhouse we LOVE where they cook your meal at the table. We sat at the grill with a young military couple, he was an MP who just got home from Korea and was leaving for Iraq in the morning (sound familiar?), and she was a military wife, who HATES military wives (wow, just like I was). They were the nicest couple and we had a lot in common. They just ADORED Christopher, our human encyclopedia, and they kept encouraging him with all sorts of Trivia. I love meeting new people at Musashi’s, I swear they know just where to seat the people.

Ok, the laptop is just about to hibernate, please excuse any typos.

Dealership, Lawyer, and mall, OH MY!

Talk about a productive day! We took the Honda in for it’s 30,000 mile service and 6 month oil change, then headed to the Attorney’s office to see what the hubbub was all about.

No court date yet. BM needs to sign more paperwork which is due on the 25th. Having a due date makes me think we will not be losing our spot on the waiting list status. We had to resign the final packet which just needed a couple changes. So please keep us in your thoughts over the next 10 days that all goes well and BM signs the new papers.

We then went to the mall so I could exchange some clothes I bought online. I found a beautiful suit for court and a really pretty sweater to wear with my skirts. They are so pretty, and I can’t wait to wear them since the first time I will wear it, will be to adopt my sweet little boy! I am so glad we got all this stuff out of the way so next week isn’t as busy.

Hmmm??

Well, Bobby said that the appointment could go either way…. it COULD be that we have our court date and we have to serve BM with notice??

Bobby has tomorrow off to compensate for Sunday, when he flies BACK to Texas for a meeting on Monday. Hopefully we can get in to see the atty tomorrow instead of Tuesday so I am not such a wreck waiting (and so Bobby does not have to take time off, but that is minor compared to my over stressing concern! LOL).

Grounded for life

Austin is in SO much trouble. His teacher called today to inform me he has one F and another getting very close to an F because he has not been turning in assignments again…. Why does he not learn?? This has been an ongoing problem EVERY SINGLE DAMN YEAR! He is so smart, but why did God give him 95% brains and 5% common sense?? So, he is being babysit now… I will be checking his folder, and he has to get his planner signed by me and his teacher. Until he pulls his grades up, he will have three things in life… School/Homework, Chores, and Taekwondo. If his grades slip anymore, his Master said he will be excused from lessons… he took him into his office today and had a talk with him. Between his teacher, his dad and I and his TWD Master, I HOPE we can nip this in the bud and he will pull his act together. It would not be the first time he has pulled out of a nosedive and ended up soaring high… in third grade he pulled mediocre grades into honor roll.

Add another appointment…

…to my long ass list below…

Tuesday we need to see the attorney, I guess our adoption paperwork got kicked back due to some technicalities…

BM is NOT going to be happy… but we are going to have to serve her, this time in person (not US personally, but we have to pay someone to serve her) AND she will have to fill out more papers in reference to her severing her parental rights. We also have some more papers to sign.

I am really hoping that we get to keep our place on the waiting list for a court date, and not have to go to the bottom of the waiting list again.

Blogstuff

I switched over to beta.blogger.com, I am not sure it will make a difference in how YOU see my blog, but it has a bunch of nifty new things for me… which brings me to announce the birth of a second blog… http://wl4sumnerrain.blogspot.com/

It is set to private, so only those I invite can read it. Since it is not public, I have NO intention of censoring myself, so be warned. If you wish to be added to my allow list, you know the drill… Email Me with your email address so I can send you an invite. Sorry for any inconvenience this adds, but I am in not willing to put myself out there more than I already am.

18m Checkup

Pretty uneventful, Matthew got 3 shots and was VERY upset about that. The doctor said his rash was bacterial, not yeast, so we are changing courses of treatment, and he said he is fine to go back in cloth, YAY!!
