How fun is this, PayPerPost is looking for a couple to wed in Vegas PPP style. The Pay Per Post and will include a bunch of neat goodies. Pay Per Post will provide the lucky couple with the license, the ceremony and a night in a hotel. Check out the video for additional details. Pay special attention to 1:10 after she mentions you will be staying in a luxury hotel. Not sure if that noise is a “baum chica wow wow” noise meets a “cat call” meets cat woman’s “rawwww” noise, but it sure was cute!
DH is such a goober, he left work early so we could go to the mall and get Final Fantasy XII. Thankfully he did not go to the midnight release party last night! He did however trade in a bunch of his games while he was there, so he had a nice $27 credit towards the game.
Today I found a really net website called www.newgie.com, which is a news website that hase up to date and current news from sources all over the net. This is not unusual in istelf, but what I DO like is that you can sort news in a number of different ways such as ‘newsiness’ or ‘latest’. I really like this feature because I may miss the story everyone is talking about just because it came out hours before and they have moved onto a newer story.
The other feature I love about this website is the mouse over feature which shows you more of the story just by running your mouse over the headline. By running your mouse over the headline, it also gives you the option to rate, save, or discuss and share the headline. And of course it has a feed option so you can add it to your own website or blog, or even your frontpage or feed-viewer.
I really enjoy the look at the feel of the interface, it is simple and elegant without being overpowering with huge ads like a lot of other news sites. I also like how easy it was to join, it literally took seconds. You should check out Newgie.com, it is a really neat concept and great place to find news about any topic you can think of!
Happy birthday my beautiful baby. It was nine years ago today that my life changed forever (for the better of course) and felt that my life had purpose. I knew I was meant to be your mama, and that you were meant to be my son. All worries, and fears I had about my future and about being a mom diapered the second I held you in my arms the first time.
Looking into your eyes, I knew there was a purpose, I knew that God existed and you made me believe in everything in life that is good. I knew unconditional love existed and I finally understood the term “a mother’s love” and how strong and pure a mother’s love really is.
You were the most beautiful baby I had ever seen. You were so tiny, so fragile, so perfect. You did not cry, but whimper, much like a little puppy. You did not have a care in the world and you did not object to anything around you. You were so laid back and just took everything in and accepted it immediately.
Today (I know it is really the 31st, but I have not been to bed yet so it’s still today) Christopher had his birthday bash. Since he is a Halloween baby we always do something before or after his actual birthday so as to not have a confliction with Trick-or-Treating.
(No, it’s not the mumps, it’s the birthday boy making a wish!)
Nine years ago today I was convinced I would be pregnant forever and that I would NEVER go into labor. I also NEVER wanted to be pregnant again. I was 41 weeks pregnant with a VERY stubborn child that we would either name Ashley or Christopher. Bobby and I had just moved into my mom’s basement as he was scheduled to leave for Oklahoma in less than 3 weeks for 5 months of basic training for the Army and my mom wanted to save us rent money and help me with our first baby.
I had seen the midwife earlier that morning who told me he would be seeing my that evening IF I got some sleep. Of course I was convinced he was full of shit because I was going to going to be pregnant forever. I had also been having contractions for what seems like forever (since way before my due date, October 24th).
I was so excited, yet scared to be a mom for the first time. I was 18 and had plenty of experience babysitting my niece and nephews, and other kids, so I was not worried about taking care of a baby, I was more worried about being responsible for this little person for the rest of his or her life.
Even the night of the 29th I called and was almost told to go to labor and delivery, but then my contractions stopped, much as they had before in the previous weeks.
Shortly before midnight I was on the phone with the hospital once again as I was not sure if my water had broken. I had a small leak, but no pop and gush like I was told to expect… for this reason alone I was skeptical I would be admitted to the hospital and fully expected the hospital to send me home.
What the heck?? I was checking MySpace today, because its been a while and I was listening to profile songs and I turned it to my own profile to listen to some John Mayer, because like a Dee Dee Dee I did not THINK of turning on MusicMatch and listening to the Continuum CD I uploaded to my hard drive.
So anyways, I am listening to John sing about Slow Dancing in a Burning Room my husband turns to me and says “are you in a better mood now?” I naturally look at him like he’s smoking crack and ask him what he’s talking about since I was never in a bad mood to begin with. And he says “now that you have your boyfriend, do you feel better?” What a goob!! Yet he’s the one sitting next to me dancing to John Mayer… so ask yourself this? Are YOU in a better mood dear husband?? Hahaha… don’t get me wrong here, I have been waiting my entire marriage to find a band/group/musician that I absolutely love that my husband does not despise. Thank you John, for bringing musical peace into my home!
In light of the recent toddler crabbiness, I could seriously use a long hot bubble bath, relaxing music, candles, a glass of wine and some Mrs. Cavanaugh’s Chocolate. Have you seen these lovely chocolates? What a simply divine indulgence for a occasional decadent treat.
These candies look so delicious, especially the cherrycordials, my favorite type of chocolate.
Mrs. Cavanaugh’s really has something for everyone…
- Traditional Assortment
- Chocolate Creams
- Pecan Cavaliers
- Cherry Cordials
- Tantalizing Truffles
- Nuts and Cashews
- Crunchy Brittles
- Sugarless Chocolates (this would make a great gift diabetic chocolate lovers)
- Chocolate & Nuts
- Roasted Nuts
- Most Famous
- Fantastic Fudge
I think my favorite would be the chocolate creams which includes such flavors as Orange, Lemon Creme, Raspberry, Vanilla, Buttercreams, French Mint, Maple Nut, Rum Victoria, Black Walnut, and many others. Just looking at these different assortments of premium candy make my mouth water.
I love this assortment of chocolates, I have never been one for plain chocolate, except for white chocolate. I do however like milk chocolates if they are mixed with fruits, nuts, or creams. I have never really cared for dark chocolates, but those are Bobby’s favorites, so I usually give those to him. I also really do not like chocolate covered caramels, unless they are really soft, which is hard to find in grocery store boxed candies which are usually a mixture of a few good candies and even more gross ones.
I don’t think I have had an opportunity to truly get pampered since Matthew was born 19 months ago. By the time he goes to bed at night I am too tired to go through all the motions of drawing a bath and gathering candies, and candles and oils. Maybe my husband will read this and treat me with a trip to the day spa for my birthday, I am so overdue for some pampering.
Matthew is driving me crazy today, he has been climbing up on my cupboards, getting into stuff that he shouldn’t be. He is repeatedly playing the most obnoxious loud toy, and he is throwing monster-tantrums for no reason at all.
Who has my sweet little baby?? Are they looking for their missing cranky toddler??
When my mom went to Norway a few summers back to see where our family came from, she fell in love with these cute little gnomes and had to buy one for each one of us girls. It was a less traditional gnome and had hair like a troll doll. It is so cute and pudgy and has a nice little home in my entertainment center. It came with a puzzle block with pictures of more traditional garden gnomes. I have always loved garden gnomes, but always been afraid of putting them in my garden as I have always worried about ‘gnome-napping’, especially if it was a unique gnome like these naughty gnomes! You can’t replace those ones with gnomes you find down at the neighborhood garden center!
The types of gnomes I like best are the ones that look much like my own Nordic Gnome, with earthier colors and more subtle features, something closer to the german garden gnomes. Those are some cute little guys. My favorite is the little guy on the left, although my sister made one quite similar to the little guy on the bottom right hand corner one year in her ceramic class that I loved.
