The Joys of Motherhood

My child is on my sh*t list right now. It is 5pm and he is just now doing his reading homework right now. Being monday, he has been home about 3 hours and had plenty of time to do it, but he ‘could not find his book’. This is getting old, I hear it almost daily.

Daddy was home 5 minutes and found it, underneith the table he put his backpack under when he got home from school….grrrrrr!

Stressing

As the adoption date draws closer, I find myself with some really important issues to face… some of them minor, like I wonder where I can get a nice court outfit for Austin, some of them a bit more major..

The main issue I am struggling with is who should attend the hearing. One one hand I feel that Austin, Christopher AND Matthew should be there, but on the other hand, I don’t want them causing a disruption on Austin’s special day. I also think they may ask Austin & a parent to step out of the court room when the judge calls BM to ask her about severing her rights, but I really want to be there for that. I almost wish I had an unnemployed childless friend, or stay at home mom with a babysitter so I could have someone come in with me to help me mind the children. However, with the adoption being in a closed courtroom I don’t know if they would allow non-family… but the closed courtroom also means I cannot just walk out and hand them off to someone without first asking for the door to be unlocked.

Maybe I am just stressing over little things because most of the big things are done, but I am really freaking out about the sibbling issue.

We have created a monster

A candy monster that is… and he is an EVIL one indeed. He is a drooling, snarling, whining, screaming brat! I had to put the candy up on the fridge because the stinker kept moving the kitchen chairs or his highchair so he could get to the candy. If anyone got any candy, he was suddenly your best friend and all over you until you gave him a bite. I wish I could get a good picture, he will stand in front of you, tongue hanging out saying “ahhhh” signing ‘eat’ until he gets a bite. Then he runs around crazily with a sugar rush, and finally turns into a vile, screaming monster on a sugar low.

Ugh, he reminds me WHY we limit candy in the home.

Halloween Candy

We are starting to get to the bottom of the bucket so to speak… three quarters of our favorite candies are gone and I am noticing a pattern what is missing and what is left.

Most chocolate is gone… all sweet tarts are gone, most chewy things are gone (tootsie rolls, laffy taffy, fruit snacks) all full sized candy bars are long gone.

What is left is mostly hard candies and suckers, and gum; which usually are the things that get thrown away anyways.

So what do YOU have left?? What is your family’s favorite candies?
