I often threaten to the husband (and sometimes the kids) that I will be blogging an embarrassing or funny thing they say or do. Bobby is ALWAYS hearing me threaten to blog what he says, but usually I can’t because I like keeping my blog PG-13 rated and often what he says is rated R or NC-17. It is still pretty funny to see his reaction; sometimes he is proud and is like “do it! I want to know what your girlfriends say when you tell them that I ….”
Most of the time I threaten, but then forget. Most of my blog-worthy material is when Bobby and I are laying half-asleep in bed and talking about strange things (like our Emergency Zombie Plan) and we are both deliriously sleepy. By the time I wake up, I forget what was said and then kick myself later for not blogging it.

I am feeling a little deflated by all the work I need to do around here and my lack of time to accomplish it. Yesterday I got a new printer, and some cord clips for the back of Bobby’s computer to organize the cords. I am hesitant to install it, just because we have so much work to do in the office still! For one, I still need to fix up my old computer for the kids; I have a 200GB hard drive I need to remove and install on Bobby’s, and I have a large bulky desk in there that I need to either organize or remove. I have carpets to shampoo, walls to paint, a crawl space and closet to organize, and a writing table to remove or move.
We have a ton of work with Bobby’s computer & the cords to organize, an UPS to put it on, and the printer to install. We also need to desperately decorate, it is so plain in that room. Bobby collects swords, and other weapons that I want up on the wall securely, away from little hands. We also have a really neat looking bow & arrow we got in Manitou Springs almost 2 years ago.

When I was 16 years old, I went through a very dark period of my life. I was struggling with being sexually assaulted 6 years before by a neighbor and felt like the world had betrayed me and I was crying out for help. No one knew what had happened to me, I told very few people, but I felt someone should have known and should have helped me. In a final attempt to cry out for help I wrote a suicide note; I am not sure if I was really going to attempt to take my life, but I needed to get my feelings out. My dad found the note and my parents got me on anti-depressants and took me to a single counseling session. Unfortunately the counselor knew my family and I; so he was unable to help me and I refused to go back. I now know that free depression help is easier to find, and I plan on never going back to that dark spot again. I will seek assistance before it gets too far. I hope that you all will seek help too, depression isn’t something anyone should have to live with.

We are all self proclaimed TiVo addicts. Each one of us has at least 1 show that we record and on any given day have about 2-3 pages of shows to watch. With the lull in new shows because of the holiday, we have been watching The Dog Whisperer, Acording to Jim and The Simpson re-runs that we have not previously seen.
Today, we have nothing to watch. Not-one-thing, unless of course you want us to watch Matthew’s Sesame Street, Signing Time, or Wiggles shows, or Christopher’s It Could Happen Tomorrow show he watches on the Weather Channel. We do have a recording of John Mayer, live in Concert that is really good, but after watching that a dozen times, and listening to his CD at least twice a week, I am sure Bobby would kill me if I suggested that.
So for the first time in weeks, we are actually watching Live TV. Ok, well I did watch the news last night, but that was to see what is being said about the upcoming blizzard we expect later this week. I would love just to turn off the TV and enjoy silence, but somehow I don’t see that happening.

I am always on the lookout for inexpensive options for Bobby’s Networking career in addition to the degree he is working on. One of the things we are looking into is getting him IT certificates in addition to his degree. His goal is to eventually have a Master’s Degree in Network Administration. Today I ran across a website which offers a Comptia Network+ Training DVD, which is a video program at a fraction of the cost of attending a class at a community college or an online school.
The video is 12 hours long and not only allows you to see a network being built, but also covers troubleshooting, plus 120 CompTia Network+ Exam Questions to prepare for the exam, all taught by an instructor.
