I was born in Montana, but moved to Washington when I was a year old. I still had most of my family in Montana so many weekends we would leave Friday at 5pm, drive to Montana arriving at 10 or 11pm (depending on who we were visiting) and then leaving Sunday afternoon to return home. For the first few years of my life, Idaho was just the state we passed through on the way to see my grandparents, aunts & uncles, or oldest sister.
Then my mom’s job moved from Spokane, to Coeur d’alene, and I would spend many summers going to work with her; and Idaho became the place my mom worked. Then my parent’s purchased some lake-front property in Idaho and it became where we would eventually have a cabin. They later sold this property and bought a larger piece of property, minutes from a different lake and they are building a big beautiful cabin which will soon be their retirement home.
When we were thinking of moving, family were telling us to look into buying a house in Post Fall Idaho, just minutes from Spokane Valley and a few hours from Bobby’s family. We seriously considered it until we learned how fast Idaho is growing and how fast certain areas are growing. Real estate is booming like crazy and certain cities like Boise are really making a name for themselves. Now would be the time to get into the market, Boise real estate is really taking off and will soon catch up with other homes in larger cities. Now would be the time to get in before the homes surpass the prices of Post Falls, or Coeur d’alene.

For Amy:
Since I love you so much, and you asked, here is a little update on Isis.
Isis still hates the crate, we went ahead and moved it outside to clean it and it snowed, so it is out there buried and frozen.
She did well when I had to run to the store the other day in our guest bathroom with the other dog; no accidents but she did piddle a bit while waiting for me to get her out (she does this every so often, wake up, run to the door and “oops” for a second while she is trying to run out the door).
She is sleeping in our bed for now, no my first choice but she is GREAT about waking us up with wiggly puppy kisses at 5am when she needs to go out. I feel like we are co-sleeping with a kid and have had to move to other places for cuddling.
She loves the other dog and often sleeps on top of her, or in a dog bed that used to belong to Chloe (the Golden).
She is doing great with eating, she is up to 1 & 1/2 cup, 3 x a day… yes, that is 4 1/2 cups daily, more than twice what the other dog eats at 3 years old…she is a growing girl!
She is having only 1 or 2 accidents a day in the house… most of the time we catch her in the act and take her right out. She is not sneaky about it and they are usually on the way to the back door.
She saw the vet on Thursday and weighed 18 lbs, she was 1 day shy of 9 weeks. No shots this visit, no worms, and her microchip has somehow migrated down to her side, not in the back of her neck. This worries me because the scan did not find it until the 10th check or so.
After the vet I took her to Petsmart to pick up some Nature’s Miracle and some chew toys and she did VERY well on a leash. She comes when she calls, know her name, and will sit when we put our fingers over her nose. She also listens VERY well when we tell her “uh-uh” for chewing things she shouldn’t. She is good about chewing on her toys and has not destroyed any toys (hers or my children’s) yet.
She is sleepy most of the day, but is very funny when she plays. I say she is too much legs and paws and not enough dog, she is a klutz, just like me and has fallen down our living room stairs (2 steps) often.
She is very affectionate to all of us, but is mostly Bobby’s dog, they ADORE each other. The cats hate her, but she just wants to play with them.
So there is the puppy update.
