So I took the older two kids to the doctor’s office this morning; and the strep tests came back positive. While I was waiting, Bobby called to tell me Matthew woke up hot and clingy, so on the way out the door I made him an appointment for later that afternoon. Bobby called his boss and told him he was taking the whole day off, not just the morning, so he could help me. He also called Baby A.’s dad to let him know it was strep, he was planning on bringing her, but called his wife who took the afternoon off so Baby A. would not get exposed.

There are several things that makes me appreciate my husband more. For one he said “Matthew was asking for milk, but with him being sick, I didn’t want him having cow’s milk”. Way to go Daddy! That is a TOTAL mom statement, to hear it coming from him made me want to drag him upstairs right there. So I cuddle Matthew in my arms watching my show “In the Womb: Multiples”; Matthew falls asleep and Bobby and I work on his web page for school. The whole time Bobby keeps offering me to get me something to eat or drink.

So, fast forward to 1:30; I am back at the doctors and everyone is fawning over baby Matthew, who is in his jammies and new bear slippers (Thank you Terri!) and he is dragging the blanket that my mom made for him. He was very cute at the doctors office, it was the first time I saw him actively engaging in pretend play with toys.

So the good news is, Matthew does not have strep (yet), but he does have a cold, and pink eye so the doctor chose to also treat him with penicillin as a treatment and preventative. When I got home, Bobby saw how tired I was and told me to go lay down and he would go to the pharmacy and watch the boys for me. When he came up to check on me he said I was burning up and went to fetch me Tylenol and water without me having to ask. He then asked if I minded him taking off for an hour to go to Taekwondo, I did not have a problem with it and Matthew and I laid in bed watching Sesame Street and napped together.

Austin and Christopher are doing much better. Matthew’s fever is running about 101.6-tympanic and is on Motrin and antibiotics. My fever is staying at around 99.7, and I am still tired, but the nap really helped.

Cute story, since this is getting to be a novel… At 8:30 Matthew waved saying “ni-night” and “upstairs” and then went upstairs. 15 minutes later, Bobby and I went upstairs to check on him; he had turned on the TV, started Sesame Street on the TiVo, and fallen asleep in our bed.
