Camera in cars?

DriveCam and a number of auto insurance companies say YES! DriveCam (www.drivecam.com) boasts that it can improve risky driving behavior by predicting and preventing accidents. The video I watched this morning of a teenagers with the system installed in their vehicles, it was astounding how careless some of the drivers were. I also see potential benefits to the first responders at the scene of accidents and people affected by insurance fraud, much like the dash cams of a police vehicle has proved essential in the past.

Segmentation

Until I learned about Pay Per Post, I was clueless about the blog ad network, now I am beginning to see it is a viable media for advertisers who often rely on word of mouth advertising. Recently, Pay Per Post has introduced “Segmentation” which is a new program for advertisers to find that perfect blog for their advertisement to be seen on. Some of these new segmented opportunities pay out as much as $1,000 to the blogger, and it ensures that the advertiser is matched with a high quality, high traffic blog.

For the most part, segmentation has worked fine for me. I spend less time searching for stuff to blog about, and I can accept higher paying opportunities on my other blog, to increase my earnings. On this blog, I have had a more difficult time finding qualified opps, but that is no change from pre-segmentation. I can see how segmentation can benefit both high traffic and low traffic bloggers.

Also, Pay Per Post is a great place for advertisers. They only charge a 35% markup, which is much less than other blog advertising company which can charge as much as a 100% markup! That is bad for advertisers and bloggers alike; bloggers would see less of a payout, advertisers would pay more for the same services.

I also appreciate truth in advertising, that is why I appreciate Pay Per Post requires disclosure of all advertisements, which I cannot say for all pay-for-blogging companies, where advertisers will often ask you to not disclose your ad is sponsored.

"The Strong Arm"

A Denver area attorney, who is known for his television ad campaign here in town, has joined Virgie Arthur’s legal team. Frank Azar, who’s commercial goes something like: “Got hurt in an accident? You need the strong arm!”

Azar, along with a few other television attorneys are sort of a punchline for Bobby and I for their aggressive commercials for personal injury.

Azar is known for multiple lawsuits against Wal-Mart and will join the legal team in Arthur’s attempt to gain custody of Anna’s 5 month old daughter, Danielynn. You can read the full article HERE.

The Internet & Bands

The internet is a great way for anything or anyone to be discovered, if you don’t believe me, take a browse through Myspace. However, I have found a better way to discover new bands and new music; www.unsigned.com.

This website makes it easier to browse for Country Artists, rock, hip hop, jazz, metal, grunge, etc. 2,000 bands have already signed up and is easy to browse for genre of music or search for a band, and listen just by clicking on their profile. This website is a lot more user friendly than the music section of myspace, and great for producers to find hot new talent for these people to break into the recording business.

I honestly expected to click on these profiles and find bad karaoke, or American Idol rejects, but so far all the bands/artists I have listened to sound really good, professional and I really hope they get their big break!

Isn’t it Ironic?

Dontcha you think?

So, I get up at 5:40 and shower, just like I always do when I have baby A. coming over. At 6:00am I wake up the boys to get ready for school. At 6:10 I learn that their school is on 2 hour delay, which means we ALL could have slept in two hours later :sigh:. Baby A. will not be here until 8:15-8:30ish, the boys will leave an hour later. The funny thing is, the boys’ school RARELY closes/late starts, I was honestly only expecting to see Ft Carson closed, however Bobby has to go in at the normal time, and we get to stay in late… of course HE is still sleeping, and WE are all awake.

Who would’ve thought…it figures.
