Where you know the moment you wake up that your day is ruined?

Today is that day, and I knew it at 2am when I woke up and could not go back to sleep. When I did manage to sleep I was awoken every 15-30 minutes. After 4am it was ever 5-10 minutes.

At 5:30 Matthew woke up screaming, like he was in pain, so I went to check on him and he thinks it is time to get up… no way, I CANNOT deal with him awake the entire time I have A.

I snapped at Bobby who asked me at 5:45 if he could help… I told him the only way he could help is if he could turn back time so I could sleep, or let me go back to bed. That did not happen and I feel bad for taking my stress out on him.

I feel sick, baby A. has a cold, we are out of Coke, and Matthew is still awake. Can I please just go to bed and wake up on Saturday?

Jacob

This is my kitty Jacob, after his antics last night, his days are numbered. He started around 3 AM when he decided he wanted to jump on and off the bed… then later he wanted under my covers. A little later he started up with the meowing, first because he was pestering the puppy and she was smacking him with her paw. Then he decided to “dig” in my comforter, not sure if he thought he was burying something or if he was playing. When he started meowing at the door because he thought it was breakfast time, I gave him the boot, but too little, too late.. I did not sleep worth a damn last night and I am paying for it today. This is precisely why we nicknamed him Stupid

Tonight we had an orientation meeting for Austin’s school, I am so in love with this school, I asked when *I* could join. It is academic/success based with requirements being much like college. You must have a 2.0 to pass, failure is not an option. The school encourages character building activities, like volunteering in the community; and the high school is college prep, with AP classes counting towards college credits. The enrollment is capped at about 300 students for middle school; Austin is looking at a graduating class of 100. I also love that it is rated 23rd in the state, so it is in the top 4% of the state.

I also love that they believe in removing distraction by wearing uniforms and having single sex classes at the middle school level. Austin is currently in a single sex classroom and his grades and test scores have never been higher with him achieving honor roll. I absolutely love that he will continue this into next year and beyond.

After the meeting we went out to IHOP for breakfast for dinner. Austin was very excited for the new school, and Christopher is rearing and ready to go too. We told him that he has two years to get his grades up, and I hope he starts working harder so he can also go. Matthew was tired from not napping today, and was a terror at dinner, I hope he sleeps well tonight because he has been SO crabby lately!

Click to go to “Our Experiences in Testing, part 2” or “Our Experiences in Testing, part 1

Tuesday we had a follow up appointment with the Pediatric Neuropsychologist about Christopher. He did not feel Christopher was classic Asperger’s, but he does feel he has Asperger’s tenancies, but for the most part is just a quirky kid as he put it. He does however have a slow processing speed despite having above average intelligence and memory. He also has delayed social skills and a bona fide case of ADHD. The neuropsych Dr. is sending reports to the Neurologist & Pediatrician and is letting them both recommend therapy and medication.

Overall I am satisfied with what we learn and trust the diagnosis.

Finding the best credit cards can be a daunting task, especially when you have bad credit, or no credit. It is also easy to abuse credit cards by maxing them out, owning too many, or carrying high interest rates. It can be tempting to accept offers for 0% balance transfers, however, unless you can pay off the balance in the allotted amount of time, you may be stuck with a higher interest rate than you started out with.

If you do decide to take the plunge and apply for credit, it is important to compare credit cards; this way you ensure you are getting the very best deal. For instance, it may be tempting to apply for cash back credit cards, but a few dollars back in cash each month is not worth hundreds of dollars more each year in interest charges.

Pretty exciting news around here, Austin got his acceptance letter to one of the Charter Schools here for next year.

I am not sure if I mentioned it, but his elementary school does single-sex classrooms for 5th grade. I just love it, and I think it is one of the numerous reasons why he made HONOR ROLL!! for 2 semesters in a row. This is the second year that his school has done this and they are finding all their positive research they did is proving true about the benefits.

Well, I wanted to continue the single gender classes, but the middle school he was slated to go to did not do this. I also wanted him to go to a school that has more parental involvement, higher test scores, more discipline, and uniforms. Basically we wanted a free/public “private” school.

So he MADE it! I need to finish filling out the paperwork, get his records, and his birth certificate (which STILL has not been sent from Illinois), including two references of character from non-related adults.

I love sandals, they totally appeal to my love of going barefoot with the added protection of having soles on my feet. This is the main reason why I am a Flylady Flunkee; each time I get the email asking me where my shoes are, I yell back at the computer “in my closet, where they belong!” I own some nice tennis shoes, they are lovely, they look like they have never been worn (because they probably never have) and the rest of my shoes are slip ons. My favorite sandals were these super cute brown strappy sandals which have not been the same since I got them wet at the ocean, it time to look at reef sandals online for a replacement pair. The weather is starting to get warmer here… and to me, anything above 50 degrees is sandal weather!!

Today when I was changing Matthew I was shocked at how bad the diaper smelled when I unsnapped it (I use cloth) and exclaimed “Holy Cow!!” Matthew did not even skip a beat when he responded back with “mooooooo”. I was totally cracking up at how literal everything is to toddlers.

It reminded me of my niece, who was maybe 18 months at the time, probably closer to 12 months. She was climbing all over me while I was singing songs to her and in a sing-song voice I sang “Kendra* is a monkey!” and she replied back “ooh ooh ohh” (the monkey noise).

Kids crack me up, total comedic relief!

*Name changed, I don’t blog names of other people’s children without permission.

Online dating can be expensive, and without knowing what results you will get it is difficult to justify spending money on the possibility of making a love connection. With JustSayHi.com you can meet new friends in your area, meet local friends, or meet pen pals, all you have to do is click on someone’s profile and just say hi.

I like that this website offers all the features of the pay for dating websites, like being able to search by gender, age, location, and then read their profile for physical description, picture, profession, interests, religion, if they have or want children and if they drink or smoke. So if you are looking for someone to share a chat with, a date with, or even a lifetime with… Just Say Hi!

After strep, then a stomach virus, we now all have had colds for about a week. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. Last night I could not fall asleep because I was coughing and then I woke up around 3 and could not fall back asleep.

Anyways, I forgot to mention a cute story about Matthew when he was sick with the stomach bug last month. When he woke up he was pale and had small amounts of puke in his crib from the night, and he started getting “the look” all you moms know that look… the “I am going to blow chunks any second so take cover or give me a bucket” so I ask him if he is getting sick and he nods yes so we run across the hall to the bathroom and I set him in front of the toilet and tell him “pukey goes in the toilet” and he leans over it and spews, he then claps, flushes it and runs off to play.

I go back to stripping his bed and he is playing at my feet when I hear him say “uh-oh”. That word is every moms least favorite word, know what I mean? So I turn around just in time to see him jump up, run to the bathroom and throw up in the toilet. Wahoo! Now I am hoping toilet training is that easy! After one more time tossing his cookies in the toilet and a nice bath, he was fine.
