My little darling loves to help. When I call his name he comes running saying “coming mommy”; however, sometimes he helps a little too much.

Take today, I had just folded a nice fresh laundry basket full of diapers and set them outside his door to be put away when he woke up. Well, I got busy with baby A. and he was up playing and having a good old time in his room. He was quiet and I did not see all the red flags.

So A.’s parent came and got her and I go upstairs with Matthew who smells suspiciously like poop. First clue something was amiss were the two poopy diapers on the stairs. The second clue were the three diapers in the middle of his toys. I am gathering all these diapers as I walk towards the diaper pail, telling Matthew “no-no-no, we don’t play with diapers, ewww!” When I get to the diaper pail I stop short; the diaper pail is now overflowing with dirty clothes from his clothes hamper. I start digging them out, hoping I see the rest of the diapers at the bottom. Much to my dismay they are not in the pail, but instead are now piled under his crib, along with some of the freshly washed ones.

I was pretty darn pissed, however I knew my emotions would be lost on him, and that two years of age a severe scolding, or a spanking would not make any difference. He was just exploring his room and trying to help by taking care of his dirty clothes. I did explain that it is yucky, and that it is not a place for babies to play. In the meantime I will make sure I shut his door when I can’t supervise him. I also need to think of a long term place to put his diaper pail so he is not playing with them, especially when he moves into a toddler bed. Thank goodness we have not had any coloring experiences!!

Someday I will have a home where I can put one of the elegant D’Legne Chandeliers. They are simply elegant and I would love to have one of these beauties in my home.

The neat fact about D’Legne Chandeliers is that they are sold directly from the manufacturer, and not sold in stores where items are marked up over 100%. I once heard that an average furniture store marks up their prices over 400%.

Can’t you just picture one of these beauties in your home?

I have always had a sick fascination with the show “Cops”, it just intrigues me how people can be so dumb. Tonight a woman (drunk) calls the police on her drunk belligerent husband. She is complaining he threw armor-all in her face and gave her a black eye. The police enter the house and the man goes on and on about him being the one paying the rent not them, so he can do as he damn well pleases. He gets into the officers face and they tell him to sit; he gets in their face even more and they help him take a seat.

So they finally arrest him for being and asshole as they say, and place him in the car for obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. He starts banging his head against the window and freaking out as the police tell the woman they are taking him to jail. She says she does not want him to go to jail and to let him out, and they tell her she can go bond him out if she wants. She then starts screaming at them that she does not have the money to get him out.

At this point I am thinking…. if you did not want him arrested… Why did you call the police???

If he hit you… why don’t you want him arrested??

And if you act like a drunk asshole in front of a video camera… WHY do you sign a release to allow them to show your dumb ass on television??

**

They also had the parents who call 911 because their one week old baby is spitting up. Wow. I was 18 when I had my son and knew that babies spit up. These were no 20 year old kids, they looked to be in their 30’s. I guess stupid comes in all ages.

Did you know there are more chickens than people in the world? How about that a Siberian Husky named Pixie had 7 puppies, one of which was bright green?

I often get emails with fun facts about things to do with dryer sheets, or amazing uses for soda, or even interesting trivia; some which are true, some which are overplayed (like the multiple uses for soda). However they are still fun, and that is why I really enjoyed the above Fun Facts that I found on www.hotfact.com. Hot Fact also has some great articles on health issues, movie reviews, today in history, and interesting news articles.

The overall look of the website is simple, and could use a little bit of graphic appeal, but the content is great, the articles interesting and informative and a website I would return to. I also don’t like how some of the links to other pages, don’t appear on every page, or that the Today in History section lacks the appeal of the other sites (the layout, not the content); but none of these issues take away from the page itself. So if I had to give this website a letter grade, I would give it an A+ for loading speed, B- for graphic appeal, A for content, and B- for ease of navigation and an overall grade of B+. Great site!

Matthew cannot say the word pizza; he thinks he can, but we won’t let him… especially in public. See, he says the ‘pea’ sound in pizza like ‘poo’ and the ‘zah’ sound in pizza ‘tuh’. I won’t write the word he says, or the exact translation of his word, but we can say it is a very well known Spanish word that means ‘prostitute’. If you don’t know the word, google a free English-Spanish translator, ask a 10th grader, or just ask my 2 year old to say pizza.

Now let’s not teach him the words “fork”, “asphalt”, “bench” or “ship” until he is at least 5.

Last summer, the parents of one of my dear friends packed up and moved to Las Vegas. Not long after they moved, my dear friend mentioned that she was also thinking of moving to Nevada. At first I was heartbroken, I assumed now that we were no longer a military family, my friends would not move away. However as the months passed, I saw the pain my dear friend was in over missing her family and I remember feeling much the same when we moved for the first time. Each Holiday was so lonely and dreary for her, especially Christmas, which she used to be overly happy about. I knew it was time for me to let go, and support their choice and he happy for her.

Besides, what is there not to love about Las Vegas? There is always something going on, the best shows, the greatest casinos, a lot of family activities. We can visit for very little money, hotels, air fare, and meals are all pretty inexpensive. Her parents love Nevada so much they have been looking into real estate Las Vegas which is booming like you would not believe. My dear friend hopes to share this new home with her parents until she and her husband are on their feet. I know I will miss them, but I also know how hard it is to lose family by someone moving. I still long to be close to my parents, especially for my children who deserve to grow up close to their grandparents. For now we will just settle on visits a few times a year and frequent phone calls. Soon I will have a good reason to add Las Vegas to my list of spots to visit.

I have a not-so-secret-anymore crush on Kevin Smith, the writer and director of movies such as Clerks, Clerks II, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I have always admired his subtle, sophisticated humor and I also think he is quite good looking. My husband, Bobby, knows of my many crushes, to include Kevin Smith AKA Silent Bob.

Yesterday, Bobby had some dental work, and when he came home, his mouth and tongue were still numb making it almost impossible to be understood when he talked. I was laying down in the front room with Matthew when he walked into the door, to communicate with me he was using a mixture of ASL (we both sign with Matthew) and some made up signs. He gets sort of a devilish look and leans back against the closet door behind him. It was as if he became Silent Bob; not only did he nail the look with his longer hair and beard, but he also nailed his facial expressions, mannerisms, and gestures. And then, as if I was not laughing hard enough, he had a “light-bulb moment” and turned around and pulled his full length leather trench coat out of the closet and REALLY starts emulating Silent Bob.

I love my husband so much, he always knows how to brighten my day and put me in a good mood. He is a great actor and comedian, and even though he may not have the drive to make it in Hollywood, in my book he wins the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role any day.

Credit is so important when it comes to buying a home, a car, or getting a loan of any sort with good terms. When we were first starting to build our credit history we had a couple credit cards with a low line of credit and a high interest rate that we used from time to time for emergencies. Within a few years of maintaining good history the offers started rolling in; from interest free credit cards on balance transfers, to 0% credit cards on purchases made in the first year. All seemed like great opportunities, until you read the fine print. Some were 0% for 12 months and then went up to 23.5%, or Prime + 10.95%. Since we were already at a high APR and wanted to switch to a low APR and close out our accounts, we had to carefully compare credit cards to find one that met all our needs. We finally went with a credit card through our bank which offered a higher line of credit, no annual fee, a low APR, and offers once or twice a year for 0% balance transfers which I take advantage of often. Building credit is hard work, but it pays off.

What a week! I have been so busy with preparing for Easter, dental appointments, a crabby baby A., feeling nauseous all week and now dealing with the bully again. I just want to climb under a big fluffy blanket and sleep for a week.

I know in time it will all get better, but for right now I am just sick of everything I want a break. Of course I also know that it is how we handle adversities that make us strong, so I keep reminding myself that next week this will all make us better people.

There are times when stuff happens in my personal life that I hesitate to share on my blog, and this is one of them. I mentioned on my other blog, how back in August Austin was being bullied, and then again briefly mentioned it here. One of the main reasons why I try not to mention this stuff is because there is another child involved, and I have found that bullies are often a by-product of a troubled child in a troubled him. I don’t believe that my “badmouthing” the bully will change the situation.

With that all said, Austin was hurt at school again yesterday. On the walk home the bully from the last incident tried to take his backpack from him and throw it in the creek, Austin resisted because his house key is in the backpack and he did not want to lose it. The bully tried to take it by force and ripped the backpack and shoved Austin to the ground. Austin was very upset, and tried to hide the incident, but my friend who was here watching Matthew got him to talk about it.

Skip to today, I called the school to talk to the Principal who was unavailable so I talked to the counselor who talked to the parents of all involved, the main bully showed no remorse, his parents did not seem upset at his behavior. All children involved got suspended for two days, and after Bobby talked to the counselor we decided not to press charges against the child.

So anyways, this is the short version of the story, everyone in the family is on edge/stressed but we will get this taken care of and I am confident this issue will stop.
