I am a mother of three sons, a wife to a great man, an aunt, a sister, a daughter, and most importantly a woman.  Watch me stumble through life trying not to lose my identity in this crazy testosterone filled home.

The name SumnerRain (pronounced [suhm-ner-rayn]) comes from a pen name I planned on using when I was a teenager.  Whenever I wrote poetry, I would sign it under the alias Summer Rain Lisel [ly-zel].  I swore to myself when I became famous I would change my name to Summer Rain.  Well, a couple things happened… I grew up and started liking my given name, and I found that the internet is a huge world and SummerRain was almost always taken when it came to screen names, so I chose a look & sound alike that was more unique.  In a way I am keeping with my own promise to myself.  Blogging is my outlet for my love of writing. 

The name of my blog, ‘Mistakes in Motherhood’, does not reflect that I have made a mistake, or that mothering is a mistake; but rather no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes.  I know that when my children are teens, they will think I am the meanest mom ever (they probably already do), but I know in my heart I am the best mom I can be.  Once they are adults and realize they are not as smart as they thought they were as a teen, I know they will see the same.  So let’s all embrace our imperfections and live life the best we know how!
