Terri Tagged Me!

Here’s the rules:

1. Link to the person who tagged you
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. Write 6 random things/unspectacular quirks about yourself
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them
5. Let each person you have tagged know by leaving a comment on their blog
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is posted.

6 Random Things

  1. I am covered in baby poo & breast milk right now, lovely huh? I started leaking while nursing Soph and before I could change my top, she pooped, but because she was nursing it blew out (her diaper gapped just a bit from being on her side). Then she promptly fell asleep. Everyone knows rule #1 of parenting is “NEVER wake a sleeping baby” and since she has not napped today AND has been a pill, we both get to suffer until she wakes up.
  2. I adore documentaries, the more obscure, the better. One I can think of off the top of my head that I loved was “Little Man“, or “Born into Brothels“, I liked that one too.
  3. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist, but no one can tell because rather than organize my garage correctly, I just let it stay dirty. When I vacuum, I have to pull out the hose to get the edges, as I cannot just “trust” the vacuum to get it good enough.
  4. I HATE owing people money. It eats away at me, even if it is just $5. If I win an auction on eBay, I pay for it within seconds of getting the notification because I just cannot stand giving my word to pay something and not paying it. If I forget to pay something, I really makes me feel guilty.
  5. Along the same lines, I almost “dined and dashed” last week without even realizing it. I ate lunch with a couple friends and when we were splitting the bill I misunderstood when she was telling the waitress how to split the bill (and now I feel like an idiot because she meant her daughter’s food when she said “I am paying for her too”, duh) so when I thanked her as we were getting ready to leave she was like “I didn’t get your lunch” and the waitress never gave me a receipt so I just assumed. Thank goodness I caught it in time because I would have left without paying and not known it, OR figured it out at a much later time and felt like an asshole for life (and I would have of course gone back to pay, even if it was months later when I realized).
  6. I wish yahoo IM had a spell check. I adore spell check, and will often copy and paste stuff into Word if it has no spell check. I love Fire Fox for having built in spell check. I have made sure to integrate spell check into Outlook Express any time I set it up. I am not a horrid speller, nor am I a wonderful speller, but it bugs me if I misspell something. - With that said, I am SURE my blog is chock-full of spelling and grammar errors.

So here is who I am going to tag, lets see who does it! :)

  1. Earthmama
  2. Tali (who is probably too busy with school to do it, but check out her blog anyways, her adorable little guy just got his first “boy badge” and he’s just too darn cute not to go look at)
  3. Dana (PG-13, or maybe just PG)
  4. Elisa (also PG-13 or just PG depending on your level of prudence
  5. Amy
  6. Allison

This week’s theme is: Gross.

Well, the picture I chose to use is of my son Matthew about 6 weeks ago trying to get his molars in. Look at his shirt, that is ALL DROOL! If you could see farther down you would see that it goes all the way to his jeans!

Forgive me for making photo hunter all about the little one, but I swear his brothers are just as gross. Here are some small ones you can click on to enlarge.

This gross picture is Christopher showing off his stomach after wolfing down at least 4 pieces of chicken… here are two I tried to arrange in a cross bone pattern.

This picture is of Austin’s back last year after being diagnosed with shingles… a painful nerve infection. These are just on his back, they also wrapped around his side and on the front of his chest. I decided not to post them too because I did not want 2/3rd of my sons showing off their nipples.

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Sorry guys, this tackle is not the best…. just little random stuff that needed to be done, but no big project this week.

  • Got the garbage out and to the curb for tomorrow’s pickup.
  • Washed diapers.
  • Mixed the dog food for the week, and made a chart for weaning the puppy off of her old food onto the new food.
  • Took care of the sicklings.
  • Disinfected various stuff that the sicklings touched.
  • Made the sicklings an appointment for tomorrow.
  • Various picking up.

I am frustrated I could not get more done, but Baby A. did not nap today, and Matthew catnapped.

This week’s theme is: Technology

Well, this may not be the most exciting picture but it is my Toshiba Satellite A105-S4094.

The processor is an Intel Core Duo T2250 / 1.73 GHz, 1 x 1 GB + 512 MB RAM, the Hard Drive. has 120 GB, and it has a double-layer DVD burner; a wide 15.4-inch display with a 1,280×800 native resolution, and various types of Wi-Fi cards.

Since I listen to so much music, I have a pair of USB powered external Logitech speakers, an external wireless mouse, and I put it on a cooling pad which includes 4 extra USB ports (for a total of 8).

The background image on the screen is the Queen Victoria Building, Sydney.

Tackle it Tuesday is here again, and boy did I slack! I did have a busy day today however, I started babysitting A., a 3 month old baby girl yeasterday and she is a real sweetie (ONLY when being held). :) I also had a doctor’s appointment today to check my blood pressure. Today’s theme is: Memory.

My memory I chose is of my husband, Bobby’s, 8 years of service in the US Army. These years made up a large portion of our lives, and even though we had many hardships while serving, his years in the Military brought us to where we are today.

Bobby left for the Army in November 1997, when our son Christopher was just 16 days old. He saw him again 1 months later for Christmas (when this picture was taken) and then not again until our son was nearly 6 months old.

In 2002-2004 Bobby spent two years overseas; one year in S. Korea (near the N. Korea border) and then 2 weeks after we were reunited in Colorado, he left for a year in Iraq. This picture was taken during his R&R from Iraq, notice how underweight he is?

This picture was taken on my birthday, on March 17th, 2004; the day Bobby returned from Iraq. Even though he got home at 11:45pm, those 15 minutes he was home on my birthday was the best birthday gift ever. Sorry the quality is so poor, my old camera did not do well in the dark.

This picture was taken 6 months after he came home from Iraq, while he was in Texas for training. The funny thing about this picture is that he made Sargent right before he left for Iraq, but he did not get the required training until 18 months after he was pinned. This training is supposed to take place before the soldier is pinned; but because of the urgent need to get our troops overseas, he made his rank before the training.

Finally, this picture was taken less than a month after he left the Army, he injured his shoulder in Iraq and after 2 failed surgeries he left the Army on a medical discharge.

I would not change those 8 years for anything. It made our marriage strong, our family close and got him the career he has today. There is nothing like difficult times to strengthen the bond of a family and to remind us how precious the time we have together truly is.

I have been away from the computer most of the day today, I decided to start participating in a new meme called “Tackle it Tuesday” where I chose an area of my room and clean and organize it and paste the before and after pictures on my blog. The reason I chose to do this was the ultimate accountability involved in showing pictures of my messy home on the web and wanting to make it look it’s very best for the after pictures.

I am mostly done with the area I chose, I am just waiting on my linens to come out of the dryer so I can finish putting the room back together and then take some “after” pictures, then I will put them on my blog so you all can see my hard work today…
