My baby boy is 12 years old today, I cannot believe I will have a teenager next year! This birthday was pretty low-key, we had a nice dinner of lasagna, spinach salad and french bread. The “party” will happen this weekend when we have cake and ice cream and Austin wanted to have a BBQ, so we will let him pick his own steak and decide what sides he wants.
Austin decided back at Christmas time he wanted to save his Christmas money to buy himself a nicer camera, well this week we talked and he decided he would probably use an iPod more than he would a camera, so tomorrow we are heading to Best Buy to let him pick his Nano. That just shows his dedication to saving… he has managed to save over $200! Way to go kiddo!
*Update*
Here is a picture of Austin, age 12, holding his brand new iPod!
Way to go kiddo!
The internet is a great way for anything or anyone to be discovered, if you don’t believe me, take a browse through Myspace. However, I have found a better way to discover new bands and new music; www.unsigned.com.
This website makes it easier to browse for Country Artists, rock, hip hop, jazz, metal, grunge, etc. 2,000 bands have already signed up and is easy to browse for genre of music or search for a band, and listen just by clicking on their profile. This website is a lot more user friendly than the music section of myspace, and great for producers to find hot new talent for these people to break into the recording business.
I honestly expected to click on these profiles and find bad karaoke, or American Idol rejects, but so far all the bands/artists I have listened to sound really good, professional and I really hope they get their big break!![]()

What the heck?? I was checking MySpace today, because its been a while and I was listening to profile songs and I turned it to my own profile to listen to some John Mayer, because like a Dee Dee Dee I did not THINK of turning on MusicMatch and listening to the Continuum CD I uploaded to my hard drive.
So anyways, I am listening to John sing about Slow Dancing in a Burning Room my husband turns to me and says “are you in a better mood now?” I naturally look at him like he’s smoking crack and ask him what he’s talking about since I was never in a bad mood to begin with. And he says “now that you have your boyfriend, do you feel better?” What a goob!! Yet he’s the one sitting next to me dancing to John Mayer… so ask yourself this? Are YOU in a better mood dear husband?? Hahaha… don’t get me wrong here, I have been waiting my entire marriage to find a band/group/musician that I absolutely love that my husband does not despise. Thank you John, for bringing musical peace into my home!
Look at these exquisite Music Boxes! These music boxes are just breathtaking, they also have a line of singing birds. Reuge has long been known for its Swiss quality products and unique designs, and they were primarily for the older wealthier population. With the new line music boxes, the Lounge and Studio collection they are seeing a growing appeal to the younger generation. They totally appeal to me. What do you think? Have you heard of Reuge before, and what if your first impression?

This one is my favorite music boxes for its simplistic design and moden elegance.

This is my second favorite, I love the colors.
Here is another one I love, the style is so retro, yet modern at the same time. It is truly a beautiful conversation piece.

I love music, I love technology, and I love gadgets, so I was totally intrigued with this cool little gadget called a LaserVibe. You just connect it to a music source (mp3 player, cd player, stereo) and it makes a laser show to coincide with the music you are listening to. The images are are generated from the music itself (from the frequency and characteristics of the music source) so it does not repeat itself, just like a professional laser show. The price also dropped significantly, so it is pretty affordable at only $59.95![]()
Have you seen this website where you can upload your music videos?
SingningFool allows you to access over 11,500 high quality streaming videos, for free! You can also search YouTube’s 6 million videos. You can also create play lists, save and share your own video creations, get the video codes for sharing on other social networks, like MySpace, and upload videos to the site.
I really like that I can view other people’s play lists; I love seeing what types of music people like, and being exposed to groups I may not have known about otherwise.
I love music videos, I am part of the MTV generation, I still remember when you could watch music videos on TV… now it is a rarity to see videos on TV.
This is what I am listening to now.![]()
