But not a new baby, as she does not need held all the time, and is not up every 3 hours… but maybe a 3 month old baby that sleeps mostly through the night, plays for part of the day, and sleeps a lot of the time still in the day. I am only getting up once in the night to take her out, usually at dawn. I am looking forward to her playing a bit more, going on walks with us, and of course being able to be lose in the house when we are away.
Isis hates her crate; every time we put her in it she whines until we take her out. The first night we put her in our bed because we were tired of hearing her cry. Last night we put her in her crib so we could have our bed to ourselves and I smelled something gross so we turned on the light and she had pooped in her crate and gotten it all over herself, even though she had just pooped outside not more than 15 minutes before. So we got up, bathed her and washed the crate, and put her in our bed again. Today when we went to the grocery store, we put her in her crate again so she would not harm herself or soil on the carpet, and AGAIN she pooped in the crate and got it all over herself. She has had 3 accidents since bringing her home 3 days ago, and two were in her crate where she has spent maybe an hour total.
I am frustrated, we need to somehow get her used to the crate, or find another place to keep her when we leave. I can sympathise with co-sleepers, finding private time with anyone extra in your bed can prove difficult. Unless we find a compromise, it is going to prove difficult to conceive baby #4!
This week’s theme is: NEW, my photo submision is Isis, my new Great Dane pup.

Today we picked up Isis’ new brand of food. We decided on the Canidae because everyone I talked to could only say good things about it. I really expected to pay more since it is the ultra-premium brand, but $33 for a 40 lb bag is not bad at all. The ladies at the feed store adored Isis and pampered her with kisses and snuggles. While I was there, 3 other customers talked to me about there experience with Canadae, so I feel confident in my choice (that and Isis LOVED the taste of the sample she had right there in the store); and plan on switching Chloe over to it eventually so I only have one brand food in the house.

I must be copying Terri ; who by the way is copying Amy, so there Kevin!
This sweet baby girl is named Isis and she is my 8 week old blue fawn Great Dane born 11.03.06 at Penrose Great Danes. She was one of a litter of 8 and has 6 sisters and 1 brother.
Isis is just as sweet as can be and has the most beautiful blue eyes (which we were told will change to hazel). She is cuddly, and mellow, and already exploring her surroundings with ease. She gets along very well with Chloe, our 3 yr old Golden Retriever and is good with the kids. She is already pottying outside and comes when she is called.

We took her to Petsmart today to get her collar and while there put her on the scale. This little girl already is tipping the scales at 15lbs 7oz!

Right now my little angel is napping at my feet (I wish my baby would take her lead; my husband did!), maybe she knows she will be getting a b-a-t-h tonight, that is going to be fun!!

Well, last month I mentioned Austin’s mosquito fish was pregnant, she gave birth on Thursday, but I have been hesitant to write about it because they keep escaping the breeder tank. To read the whole fish story, I suggest you click here and start at the bottom of the page. Austin told me before school on Thursday that Scarlet, his fish, was giving birth. By the time I went to check on her she had 30 fish and was eating them as fast as she could, so I pulled her out of the breeder tank and went about my day.
A few hours later, I took Matthew down with me to see the baby fishies and this time only counted 20, so I figured I must have miscounted, but I noticed my angel fish and a few other swimming around the tank anxiously. Before Taekwondo, Austin and I took Daddy down to see them and this time I only noticed 12. I told him they were escaping and being eaten and to not get his hopes up that any will live. Today there are only 4 living fish (out of the 30+) and 3 dead ones. I guess this is one way to prevent overcrowding…
My poor Chloe, she can be quite the stressed out pup at times. In this pictures you can somewhat see the thinning hair on her front paws; she gets this from licking them anytime she is stressed, bored, or nervous. Vets have said she may have a skin problem, food allergy, or anxiety. I know goldens have sensitive skin, but the vitamin supplements and diet change to a low allergy, healthy coat Avoderm dog food has not helped, so I am leaning towards anxiety or depression.
My kitty Jacob decided this morning that I needed to get up at 6:30 am. When he started meowing at me, I got up to kick him out of the room and he ran into my bathroom and continued meowing. I figured I would use the restroom, grab the cat, and head back to bed; but ended up waking up more than I wanted to and jumping in the shower.
Bobby got up 30 minutes ago, and this prompted some playful bantering. First I asked him if he made the bed (long story short, I said he never made the bed, he countered I never get up first, I started naming dates), he said ‘no’, but then dared me to go look. Well, he proved me wrong and actually made the bed. Of course now I am missing my pen I stole from him, and I imagine he stole it back. The butt head.
Chloe chewed up Bobby’s wireless controller for his PlayStation. She has not chewed up anything she was not supposed to in probably a year. I am not sure what possessed her to do that, but we gave her one of her chew toys in case it was boredom. She has been such a good dog lately, so I don’t doubt that this was an isolated incident. I really don’t want to have to replace the controller, since I am sure he will be getting a PS3 in the next few months.
She’s feeling pretty guilty, I hope she learned her lesson.
I spent a good chunk of the afternoon at Petsmart today looking for a good training aid for Chloe when she goes for a walk. She already has a headcollar but she really hates it and people always think it is a muzzle. Today we got her a Easy Walk Harness that I hope will have the same results without people thinking we have a biter or a vicious dog. As a bonus, the woman who helped me was the dog trainer (with a VERY tame Rottie that did tricks for us), so she let us try it out a while, fit it for us, and showed us some tips.
