Segmentation

Until I learned about Pay Per Post, I was clueless about the blog ad network, now I am beginning to see it is a viable media for advertisers who often rely on word of mouth advertising. Recently, Pay Per Post has introduced “Segmentation” which is a new program for advertisers to find that perfect blog for their advertisement to be seen on. Some of these new segmented opportunities pay out as much as $1,000 to the blogger, and it ensures that the advertiser is matched with a high quality, high traffic blog.

For the most part, segmentation has worked fine for me. I spend less time searching for stuff to blog about, and I can accept higher paying opportunities on my other blog, to increase my earnings. On this blog, I have had a more difficult time finding qualified opps, but that is no change from pre-segmentation. I can see how segmentation can benefit both high traffic and low traffic bloggers.

Also, Pay Per Post is a great place for advertisers. They only charge a 35% markup, which is much less than other blog advertising company which can charge as much as a 100% markup! That is bad for advertisers and bloggers alike; bloggers would see less of a payout, advertisers would pay more for the same services.

I also appreciate truth in advertising, that is why I appreciate Pay Per Post requires disclosure of all advertisements, which I cannot say for all pay-for-blogging companies, where advertisers will often ask you to not disclose your ad is sponsored.

Big News at PayPerPost

Can you guess what it is?

I would love for it to be something that would make life easier on us posties, but I am guessing it is either a new domain added to the mix, it going out of beta, or upgrades of some sort. Whatever the news is, I look forward to how it will affect all of our blogs.

I think the critics will criticize, but they always do. I think the advertisers and posties will complain, but let’s be real here people, we always do… just because you cannot please everyone. I think overall there will be a buzz of excitement as there always is after a big roll out.

However, I would love to think the big news is something fun and sweet like someone at PayPerPost is getting married, or having a baby, and plan on broadcasting it live (much like Julie’s wedding). But I think I am just a sentimental sap that loves all things family related, and would like to think that Ted sits in a nice roomy office being fanned by palm tree leaves while being fed grapes by scantily clad women while the other people at PPP put in 4 fun filled hours of work and take home a ton of money and no one has to work long hours, and work their fingers to the bone. However I do know how hard the people over at Pay Per Post work, which is why I try to be happy with any upcoming changes.

Now, if only I could be so productive with MY blogs!

PayPerPost

I am always telling people how much I love PayPerPost and that I work two jobs at home… The harder job of the two is watching three month old baby A. for four hours a day. Since the dad is a good friend of Bobby’s, and I only watch her part time, I hardly charge them anything; they are easily saving $75-100 a week on daycare by having me watch her, since I only charge $50 a week. But she is a good baby and it does not interfere with my schedule so I don’t mind.

My other job is blogging for cash for PayPerPost.com and it is SUPER easy work for good pay. If you have a blog, or multiple blogs that are 90 days old, you post regularly, and meet the other simple guidelines; you two can get paid for doing something you love.

Since starting in with PayPerPost in October I have been paid: $976.89 and have almost $200 pending payment right now. This is money I have used to pay off credit card debt, as well as buy fun things like Christmas gifts.

What I love about PayPerPost is that I never spend more than an hour to make my money, in fact on average it takes me 20 minutes a day (when I blog) to make between $10-30; talk about a part-time job!

….Chicago edition. Hats off to you Robyn, this video of her in cooooooooold Chicago trying to win a new Digital Photo Printing set by HP, to include a HP Camera, memory card, paper, photo printer, t-shirt, and one THOUSAND big ones was GREAT! I was laughing my butt off at the antics of Ted Murphy, founder & CEO of Pay Per Post. Ted, you remind me of Ty Pennington, you are always on! Pay special attention for a guest appearance from Antonio and cat feeeesh! Anyways, watch the video, laugh, and then run over to Pay Per Post to get paid to blog! Puzzle Piece

Here you have it ladies and gentlemen, another piece of the Pay Per Post Rock Startup puzzle. RockStartup.com is the reality show website that shows the behind the scene action that we posties don’t get to see. I have to say, it looks a lot harder running a web 2.0 company than I would have imagined. I mean I knew it would not be simple, but I cannot imagine working such long hours and living in and out of hotel rooms like Ted does.

Anyways, here is another puzzle piece, good luck to anyone who can collect all the pieces, put them together and then be the first one to post it on their blog. They could be the lucky winner of $1,000 big ones!

PPP Puzzle

RockStartup.com is having a fun little contest worth $1,000 for the winner who is the first person to collect, reassemble and post all of the puzzle pieces together on their blog. There are 30 pieces that assemble for a sneak peak of the upcoming Vegas episode! If you have not seen it, you can view it HERE. I am excited about this episode because it hopefully shows part of my friend Julie’s wedding, I cannot think of a more deserving couple. I guess what happens in Vegas, does not always stay in Vegas when Pay Per Post and a video camera is involved. They don’t call it ‘Sin City’ for nothing!

PayPerPost Blog

It is no secret that I love PayPerPost, I have never hid that fact. However I don’t think I have really talked much about the PayPerPost blog and how much great information you can find there. For one, they keep us all updated on news we need to know, like scheduled maintnence, or upcoming changes. I also like how they give us an inside glimpse behind the scenes of PPP by things like video confessionals. They also show off some of the creative videos that some posties have put together, like the infamous Cat-Feesh videos. But they also show us how they are giving back through charity events and such. It is always nice to know more about things that I get involved in.

Notice the new button on the sidebar for PayPerPost, paid posting feel free to click and join so we can both a little extra cash to do what you already do; blog about things you love! It’s super fast and easy to join; there is no commitment or minimum amount of paid posts. It is not like a real job where you have a boss breathing down your neck. So far, I am using my money to pay bills (exciting I know) so we can move up north to a bigger house in a better school district. With the extra income, we have managed to splurge a bit to get a new stove, and kitchen table… yay!

Hot Tamale Confessional 2

Hot Tamale, aka Veronique from payperpost is back from Vegas and feeling better than ever. I guess her mineral water, vacation to Vegas for the PayPerPost Wedding, and a brand spankin’ new HP Digital Camera has renewed her spirits. I bet they had a blast in Vegas, I know I would!

Hot Tamale seems like such a sweet girl, and as Dr. Phil would say, “she is just as cute as a speckled pup”. Her enthusiasm about her new camera is so nice, because I have felt that same way about my own Canon Digital Rebel XT. I LOVE that camera.

Anyways, check it out!
