Austin and Christopher got grades this week, not only were we impressed with the actual grades, but more impressive was the improvement between 1st semester and 2nd semester.
Austin made the Dean’s List!! YAY AUSTIN!!!
He had 6 A’s and 3 B’s, up from 3 A’s, 2 B’s and 2 C’s.
Not sure if Christopher made honor roll yet, but he had 7 A’s, 1 B and 1 C, up from 5 A’s, 2 B’s, 2 C’s and a D.
Looks like we get to take BOTH kids out for a celebration this time, I am so proud of them! I am not sure I can pass the pride they are feeling for themselves though, good job boys!!

I ran some errands today, expecting that leaving at 5:30pm on Sunday night to go to Petsmart, Home Depot, and Safeway would not be an issue. Apparently I was wrong, even in my city everything closes early on Sunday. My fish will just have to live in filth until tomorrow because the pet store closes at 6pm. I will have to get some dog food tomorrow from the feed store anyways, so I guess I will just hit 2 stores and HOPEFULLY the post office tomorrow.
Home Depot was closing as I was checking out, but I am so thrilled that I found the step stool I needed, since I no longer have kitchen chairs to climb on (the new ones are too nice, too tall, and covered with fabric).
Today was a nice game, Bobby and I played Mexican Train Dominoes with Austin and Christopher. We had a lot of fun, but had to break up the game early when we heard a huge crash in the basement. Turns out the cat knocked the full bottle of detergent off the washer and a spilled the entire full button onto the floor. Thank goodness it was onto the linoleum and not the carpet. I used that time of cleaning the floor to start some more laundry, clean my third (basement) bathroom, and clean the fish tank. I am also glad my Charlie’s soap was not spilled, I LOVE my Charlie’s and I am getting ready to start a load of diapers right now.

With little sleep last night, and much excitement today, I am taking a personal day from working. After watching Superman, we did head up north to the mall, and we visited the fountain and made wishes. We then went to Build a Bear (Austin had no idea we had planned this) and when he had his bear made and was dressing it, he said “My wish already came true! I wished I would get a build a bear”. So he made himself a cute brown bear he named Henry and dressed it in Harley Davidson garb; jeans, tshirt, and a biker jacket. Grandpa would be so proud!
Of course, while we were there, Matthew saw a Big Bird that he had to get and we gave in. Chris was cool with not getting one, since he just got Hunter, his taekwondo snow leopard he got for his birthday (Halloween).
We did not have time for Red Lobster, so we will take him on Sunday.

Thanksgiving is over and I think we are all feeling a sort of ‘hung-over’ and tired from all the turkey. We all worked very hard to make this all come together without a hitch. Bobby helped a lot with the final cooking… the part where everything is coming together at the same time and everything needs your full attention and you only have two arms. Austin and Christopher helped a ton with the clean up, and I really appreciate all they did.
So today we are all having a lazy day. I refuse to leave the house on Black Friday, I am not one of those crazy shoppers who is willing to get up at 4am to get a sale at 5am. In fact I imagine 75% of my shopping will be done online. We need to get some stocking stuffers still at Barnes & Noble, and probably the rest will be done at Target and Best Buy.
So in celebration of “Black Friday” we are all doing our own thing today; Austin and Chris are playing their Nintendo DS’s, Bobby and I are watching TV and Matthew is now napping.
When this picture was taken, he was watching Sesame Street. Between Sesame Street, the Dog Whisperer and Signing Time, this boy gets engrossed. Other than those three shows, he could really care less about the television. Sometimes I can get him to lay in bed with me and watch Veggietales in the morning.

I love the
Discovery Channel Store, I was able to get the older two boys the gifts I wanted to plus 15% off (which covered shipping and tax). Next time I shop there I should have about $25 off. Now if I could just decide what to get Bobby and Matthew I would be golden.
I am thinking of getting Matthew a Fisher Price Little People Ramps Around Garage, but I am having a hard time finding it new online. I am not sure if it is sold out, or discontinued. I also have not seen it at Toys R Us, or Babies R Us. So it may be a bust.

Bobby took Austin and Christopher with him to go visit his buddy. I am sure he’s going to come back and brag how he got to hold his buddy’s new daughter. Matthew is napping upstairs so it’s just me in the quiet house with all the animals sleeping and the gentle swishing of the laundry washing in the basement. I am having a hard time with today being Saturday. It FEELS like a Sunday with the boys home for the last three days, or Bobby home for the last two.
Well, that is short lived… I hear a little voice saying “mommy” upstairs.

The kids were being really loud this morning, and I was trying to sleep, so Bobby loaded them up and took them to the park and to eat. I got to get a few extra hours of sleep, the kids got to burn off some energy at the park, and I think Bobby had fun too. I love it when he does stuff like that.

A few weeks ago I described a situation as blissfully chaotic to my friend Terri and she thought I was maybe a bit blissfully insane.
I think it could explain my own home today. Matthew is walking around without pants (just a onsie & a diaper) and a sock on his right hand. Austin & Christopher are doing homework if you can call it that. I keep having to remind them to stay on track and quit talking. Matthew and I are learning our signs and animal noises for pig, horse and cow today. He seems to have the sounds down, but the signs are kind of hard. He already signs bird, duck, cat, fish, and dog.
Chloe is rolling around on her back trying to scratch an itch, I swear my Golden can take up an entire room.

I think I know what we will be getting the boys for Christmas, I want to get Austin a Roboreptile. For Christopher, my eccentric child, I want to get him this really nice globe. I am still not sure what to get Matthew, but he is really into cars and trucks lately. I have fallen in love with many of the beautiful toys at Rosie Hippos. Don’t even ask me about Bobby, I have NO CLUE.

I have had such a relaxing day so far… Bobby let me sleep in as late as I want, and then I laid in bed cuddling my down comforter (and the baby) watching Law & Order and I also got a nice long hot shower. The older two are now playing outside, the baby is napping, and Bobby just went to lay down for a little while. The house is so quiet and I just love being alone with my thoughts.
