I have two orange belts! They should get their belts on Tuesday, so I will try to get & post pictures then. Austin was almost in tears he was so excited and proud. I am so happy they have something in their lives that fill them with so much pride.
To celebrate we took the boys out to The Olive Garden, Austin ordered an adult plate of fettuccine alfredo… Can you believe he was the only person who ate all his food? This was after a plate of salad and a bread stick by the way. The kid is hollow!

90 more minutes until the belt test, and Austin and Christopher are VERY excited! I just hope Bobby can get home from work soon enough to be there. Chances are he will, since we are going to be getting there about 40 minutes early, but there is a chance he may be delayed since he is preparing for teaching his first class next week at work.

After the boys get their Orange belts, they will be required to buy instep and shin guards to protect themselves and others. While looking at karatedepot.com I ran across some ninja costumes, just in time for Halloween. The costumes seem a bit expensive for one day a year, but they make up for it in quality, I think these uniforms could be used for every day play, or for martial art classes. Both are on sale right now and the website boasts low cost, and fast shipping. Both costumes come with an authentic ninja uniform with hood and mask, a Ninja hardwood bokken; the difference is the deluxe uniform comes with long tabi boots and tabi socks, where the standard uniform comes with rubber sole ninja slippers. With the boys’ new love of Taekwondo; I wonder how long it will be before we have a Ninja for Halloween?

We need TWO DVRs, because the one with two incoming lines is not enough. On Thursday I have two shows (CSI & Grey’s Anatomy), Bobby has one (Supernatural), and I am NOT missing CSI again! So, tonight while the boys were in Taekwondo we went to Best Buy to pick up a second unit for our bedroom.
I also feel like I got along done. Bobby has a 4 day weekend (mandatory telecommute days), so when Matthew was napping I was able to go to the boys’ school, the bank, the vet, Goodwill, Bed Bath & Beyond, and to the grocery store.
Tomorrow, Bobby is talking about taking the boys to a Taekwondo state tournament a few towns over. Our school will be in it, but I think it would be a lot of fun for the boys to see a competition. Master Bell worked the kids so hard tonight, he was having them do all sorts of push ups… diamond, knuckle, finger, bounce and clap, etc. I treated the kids to a big meal, chicken Parmesan, Alfredo, french bread, a baked potato, and fresh broccoli and cheese. They chose to go to bed early, poor kids.

Austin is in SO much trouble. His teacher called today to inform me he has one F and another getting very close to an F because he has not been turning in assignments again…. Why does he not learn?? This has been an ongoing problem EVERY SINGLE DAMN YEAR! He is so smart, but why did God give him 95% brains and 5% common sense?? So, he is being babysit now… I will be checking his folder, and he has to get his planner signed by me and his teacher. Until he pulls his grades up, he will have three things in life… School/Homework, Chores, and Taekwondo. If his grades slip anymore, his Master said he will be excused from lessons… he took him into his office today and had a talk with him. Between his teacher, his dad and I and his TWD Master, I HOPE we can nip this in the bud and he will pull his act together. It would not be the first time he has pulled out of a nosedive and ended up soaring high… in third grade he pulled mediocre grades into honor roll.

I purposefully failed to mention that Austin has been having bully problems. I was too angry to write anything about the situation because I feel as an adult it’s wrong of me to trash a 10 year old little boy on the internet. Austin and friends had gone to the park together behind my house when Austin got separated from the group. The Bully lunged at him, throwing him off his bike and punched him in the face 4 times. Austin’s eye was swollen, and his glasses and bike got bent up. Austin was very upset and did not want to tell me what happened.
I am feeling better about the situation because I feel like there is/will be some resolution to the situation.
The steps I have taken so far are:
- We called daddy in Texas and had him talk to Austin about what to do next time, as well as taking to other people in our support system. I reminded him how much we love him and I would never be angry at him for someone damaging his bike.
- I called the local police department to file a complaint; they could not find the child without an address so that was a dead end.
- I called the Principal of his school even though it happened before school was in session. He said he would talk to the boys, but he has not because he’s been in meetings.
- I enrolled both boys in TaeKwonDo to teach them confidence and self defense.
- I spoke with the counselor at school today who is aware that this is an ongoing problem.
- I informed Austin’s teacher that this child was threatening him in school yesterday.
Anyways, I should know more as time passes. It really bothers me Austin is having to go through all this, he is such a sweet little boy with so much on his plate right now, he does not need this.
BTW, Austin asked me again today if I got my court date yet, I wish I had an answer for him. On that same note, we got our first statement from the Attorney, and we have only spent a little under 20% of our retainer, and I expect that the most expensive part is already over.

Austin and Chris are back in school. I had to tell them twice to take off their backpacks, they had put them on 20 minutes before it was time to leave; are they excited do you think?!?? With the house empty, I have been bored! I can’t believe it!! So far I have washed the slipcovers, hand washed the dishes, cleaned the highchair, hand-washed a load of dishes, fed the baby, bathed the baby, all before I had my breakfast. I also re-uploaded the slideshow videos I made of the boys last year, they had been removed from inactivity; you can see them HERE.
So now what do I do with my day? It’s 11am and I have a quiet house to myself. I have to wash diapers today once Matthew wakes up, and I would like to vacuum today and maybe clean out my car. After the boys get home from school it will be a rushed evening as they have Taekwondo tonight. I am also waiting on a phone call from the doctor’s office on how they want to evaluate Christopher for some sensory issues he is having.
No need to walk the dog, she’s sleeping in the kitchen right now walking herself in her sleep…LOL
